- Title
La pintura mural de José Guerrero: los frescos portátiles.
- Authors
VALLEJO ULECIA, INÉS
- Abstract
In 1950, the Spanish painter José Guerrero moved to New York where he came into contact with the artists of the American Abstract Expressionism. From that moment onwards, his work was strongly related to the ideas of the School of New York. Although his production is mostly centred on painting, during the fifties Guerrero worked on mural works which he usually referred to as frescos portátiles [portable frescoes]. This part of his work, the least known until now, was key to the development of his later career.
