The author discusses the comparison between the freeze partnerships and the intentionally defective grantor trust (IDGT) sales in terms of tax benefits. The author attempts to explore on the effectiveness of the alternative strategies of the IDGT sales and freeze partnerships for the mobilization of their future appreciation and he considered that the two are a function of interest despite their differences in their schemes.
