- Abstract
McKittrick and Wheelock syndrome (MKW), firstly described in 1954[1] is a diarrhea sustained by a rectal villous adenoma. Learning points for clinicians Nephrologists, endocrinologists and internal medicine physicians should be aware of McKittrick and Wheelock syndrome, which should be considered in the differential diagnosis in presence of electrolyte abnormalities, diarrhea and acute kidney injury. Electrolyte abnormalities and acidosis improved, diarrhea episodes reduced to one per day and oliguria resolved after 2 days with progressive improving of renal function up to normal.
