- Abstract
The article discusses the doctrine of absolute judicial immunity in the U.S. with regard to international arbitration. Topics explored include the contribution of the 1880 Iowa Supreme Court common law case Jones v. Brown to the conception of absolute arbitrator immunity, the development of common law judicial-related immunities, and the need for arbitrators to be treated as public officials that perform professional tasks.
