- Title
Toward atonement for pharmacy compounding tragedies.
- Authors
Zellmer, William A.
- Abstract
The author discusses whether or not there be any satisfactory atonement for the recent deaths caused by fungal contamination of injections prepared by a large-scale pharmacy-compounding operation. He describes some of the key issues, which include the public’s marginalization of the profession of pharmacy and greed and corporate or special-interest control of legislative and regulatory oversight. He highlights several initiatives that require the support of pharmacists.
