- Authors

- Abstract
Calcitonin Gene Related Peptide (CGRP) is a polypeptide acts as smooth muscle relaxant both peripherally and centrally causing vaso-dilation and decreased gastro-intestinal movement.[[1]] It has also been shown to potentiate central sensitization of neuronal afferents. The actions of CGRP are antagonized by CGRP receptor antagonists (rimegepant, ubrogepant, atogepant), CGRP antibodies (galcanezumab, fremanezumab, eptinezumab) and CGRP receptor antibody (erenumab).
