- Abstract
The article discusses the propaganda and psychological warfare campaigns organized by British and U.S. government agencies with Indonesian armed forces in the campaign of violence in Indonesia in 1965-1966. Topics covered include the number of Indonesian leftists killed and detained without charge, allegations that the Indonesian Communist Party (PKI) had planned to kill senior army generals in a failed coup attempt, the PKI's demonization, and the use of Indonesian army media for propaganda.
