- Abstract
In the presence of trisodium citrate dihydrate the formation of 2D cyanide ‐ bridged coordination polymers is slower as the complex as reactant appears to be more stable, leading to a preferential growth. The resulting material has a 2D nanoflake ‐ like morphology and can be assigned as a Hofmann ‐ type coordination polymer in which Ni atoms are bridged by cyano groups. After heat treatment, nanoporous NiO flakes are formed successfully. When used as an electrode, the nanoporous NiO flakes show a high specific capacitance, making such material an excellent candidate for future supercapacitor applications.
