- Abstract
In an article published in Advanced Functional Materials, researchers Martin Wegener, Martin Bastmeyer, Motomu Tanaka, and their colleagues discuss the design and production of microstructured bio-metamaterials using 3D printing and two-photon laser printing. These bio-metamaterials, made from an elastic photoresist, show different responses from human mesenchymal stem cells at both the cellular and sub-cellular levels. The researchers suggest that these bio-metamaterials have the potential to mechanically regulate cells through the arrangement of unit cells.
