- Abstract
The article discusses the use of graphic organizers in education to improve comprehension of curriculum content. Particular focus is given to Concept/Definition Maps. According to the author, strategies which utilize these charts can help students who are unsure how to approach learning large quantities of information. Details related to the materials needed to construct Concept/Definition Maps and procedures for introducing them to students are presented. Other topics include questions for teacher reflection on the effectiveness of the exercise, content areas in which graphic organizers can be used, and print resources for further information on graphic organizers.
