- Abstract
The article discusses geographic references related to the English cities Bath, Bristol, and Gloucester in the sixth letter of the three-volume book "Tour thro' the Whole Island of Great Britain," by Daniel Defoe. Topics include Defoe's reliance on second-hand accounts and folklore for some information, erroneous information on the population of and coal importation at Bristol, and the 1643 siege of Gloucester. References to church history are noted.
