- Abstract
Background: In the past, myomectomy performed during cesarean section has been a rejection by many clinicians because of the high risk of intraoperative hemorrhage and consequent hysterectomy in many situations for bleeding management [2]. In recent years, and due to several articles published in specialized publications, myomectomy during cesarean section has become an increasingly safe procedure [6]; is more often performed due to advances anesthesia techniques, consolidation of certain surgical techniques and the availability of new drugs generation. Case presentation: We present a case of a 37-year-old patient, 2 Para, with cesarean section at the first birth, monitored pregnancy; during the prenatal consultations for pregnancy she was diagnosed with a large uterine fibroid located posteriorly, in the area of the right edge of the uterus.
