- Abstract
In Colombia, psychology is regulated by Law 1090 of 2006. Since 2019, psychology training programs have been increasingly recognized and evaluated as health programs, requiring an understanding of additional laws and regulations. Consequently, an initiative arises to describe the legal framework in Colombia which governs psychology education, outlining provisions for the development of competencies and the practice of clinical work at the undergraduate level. The objective is to provide reference material that facilitates a deep understanding and precise application of relevant legal norms for the training of psychologists in Colombia. The research methodology is qualitative and documentary, involving an analysis based on information extracted from official documents. The results indicate that 23 official documents were retrieved. This review sheds light on the regulatory framework governing clinical practice in psychology. Furthermore, the suitability of the existing regulations for clinical psychology practice in the Colombian context is discussed.
