- Abstract
Drilling fluid wastewater is waste originating from industries primarily engaged in refining crude oil and is a very complex compound of various oily wastes, water, heavy metals and so on. Supercritical water oxidation (SCWO) is applied to treat drilling fluid wastewater. The orthogonal experiment results showed that optimum technological parameter for SCWO of drilling fluid wastewater is that reaction temperature is 430°C, oxygen excess (OE) is 0.75, initial concentration of drilling fluid wastewater is 3000 mg/l and reaction time is 15 min. Chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal is 99%. It is concluded that SCWO is an effective process for removing organic compounds from drilling fluid wastewater.
