The article reports on the self-actualization and the act of volunteering. It also provides further evidence for the construct validity of the personal orientation inventory. Although vaguely defined, the concept of self-actualization (SA) is common in personality theory. Self-actualizers are people who have developed or are developing to their full capacities. Characteristically these people have superior perception of reality, increased acceptance of self, and increases in spontaneity, detachment, autonomy, and creativity.
