- Title
Interaction Between Siblings in Primetime Television Families.
- Authors
Larson, Mary S.
- Abstract
Using the frame of television as a socializing agent, three primetime family sitcoms were analyzed in order to describe the nature of sibling interaction in television families. More sibling interactions were positive than negative. Compared to earlier studies of television siblings, however, the behaviors are relatively conflictual. In mixed-gender dyads younger sisters' interactions with older brothers were particularly hostile.
