- Abstract
This article investigates the impact of an affirmative action program (AAP) targeted toward decreasing discrimination in the workplace on the distribution of labor income in the U.S. Initially it presents a description of the U.S. labor market equilibrium prior to the AAP implementation. It then presents an overview of the nature of AAP, its goals for labor equality, and its enactment in the U.S. labor market. The article also examines several different social issues that influence the effect of AAP on market equality.
