- Abstract
For the thinned array antenna, the peak sidelobe level (PSLL) of the array with equal amplitude excitation can not meet the requirements of the designed performances. Considering the constraints of antenna gain and the half-power beamwidth, the appropriate fitness function is designed, and the excitation amplitude of the element based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) is optimized to reduce the antenna sidelobe level. Meanwhile, the relationship between the pattern of planar phased array with rectangular grid and the discrete Fourier transform (DFT) is analyzed, then the fast Fourier transform (FFT) is used to reduce the computational complexity. The simulation results show that the proposed approach can effectively reduce the maximum PSLL and the computational complexity.
