Response to Letter, "Autophagy Plays a Crucial Role in Ameloblast Differentiation".
- Authors

- Abstract
This article is a response to a letter regarding the role of autophagy in ameloblast differentiation. The authors apologize for not citing a previous article that discusses deficient iron deposition on enamel and abnormal stem cells in autophagy-deficient mice. The authors' article focuses on how autophagy dysregulation leads to ameloblast differentiation defects in mice, without affecting dental epithelial stem cells in aged mice. The authors found that the NRF2 pathway regulated by autophagy is crucial for ameloblast differentiation. The age-related phenotypes mentioned in the previous article will be further analyzed in future studies.
