- Abstract
An essay is presented that analyzes the productive relation of belonging as a condition of human being and narrative as a mediator and enabler of that condition. Topics addressed are the means and ends of productivity, the use of narrative as an indispensable component of dwelling in the world and its relation to space and time in human existence, the function of narrative as an ontological condition of social life, and the psychoanalytic and phenomenological models of narrativity.
