- Abstract
The article analyzes the television program "Star Trek," which aired between 1966 and 1969, with a particular focus on its relationship to gender roles in the U.S. during this period. Details on the show's portrayal of femininity and on the costuming and makeup for women characters are presented. Romantic relationships between characters and the show's portrayal of sexual assault are also discussed.
