- Abstract
The article examines the history of Chinese migration to the new world from the gold rush period until the establishment of the People's Republic of China. Topics covered include the origin of Chinese migrants, a key role played Tung Wah Coffin Home (TWCH) in the repatriation of an estimated hundred thousand remains of Chinese from all over the world from 1900-1949, and the repatriation of Chinese Americans before the founding of the TWCH.
