- Abstract
The article presents a research which aims to determine the effect of dexamethasone on bleeding following tonsillectomy in children. It informs that the adenotonsillectomy is common in children above 15 years which leads to the increase in tonsillectomy rates. The research involves the introduction with corticosteroids to children undergoing tonsillectomy to reduce postoperative nausea and vomiting. It is concluded that preoperative dexamethasone introduced during tonsillectomy is not associated with excessive bleeding events and it could not be excluded because the noninferiority threshold of five percent was crossed.
