- Abstract
This article reports on a study which demonstrated the association between adiponectin mRNA expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) and survival in gastric cancer patients. Adiponectin has been shown to have anti-cancer activity and plays an important role in energy homeostasis. Researchers have discovered de novo synthesized adiponectin in monocytes, which inhibits monocyte adhesiveness.
