- Title
Chapter Five: The Relationship between Geometry and the »Wissenschaftslehre«.
- Authors
Wood, David W.
- Abstract
The article explores the relationship between geometry and the doctrine of science or the Wissenschaftslehre of German philosopher Johann Gottlieb Fichte with focus on specific similarities and differences. It notes that such similarities include those of self-evidence, determinacy and irrefutability while the differences contain unequal relations to freedom and structure of languages. Fichte asserts that geometry and mathematics shall be considered an intellectual propedeutic for such doctrine.
