The article examines the tradition of boasting in the Tuscan romance "Tavola Ritonda" in Tuscany, Italy. It explores the characteristics of the literary genre and its function in the context of the romance. It offers an overview of the episode where Ferragunze boasts that he is of noble birth, he was never afraid of knights, he has never been jealous of his wife, and he has never been drunk. It discusses the differences in other sources, the Tuscan author's standpoint, and his narrative method.
