- Abstract
The article discusses the general purpose of the bill Foreign Counterfeit Merchandise Prevention Act (FCMPA) in the U.S. and how it helps detect fake products. It argues that revisions should be made to the bill to include a procedural safeguard. It explains how the revisions would adequately protect legal importers. It examines the history of the methods of U.S. Customs and Border Protection for dealing with counterfeit merchandise.
