- Abstract
The article discusses the social studies curriculum reform in India as of January 2012. It mentions the major curriculum reform in India from 2004 to January 2012 under the leadership of Professor Krishna Kumar. It compares the National Curriculum Frameworks (NCF) of 2000 and 2005 with particular reference to social studies curriculum and teachings. The results of interviews and focus-group discussion with social studies school teachers concerning social studies curriculum reform are discussed.
