- Abstract
The article considers the authorship of the domestic tragedy "Arden of Faversham" and whether the play was written by dramatist Thomas Kyd or dramatist William Shakespeare. The scope of each author's canon is described as is the controversy involving the authorship of a number of works. The language, metaphors, and imagery in "Arden of Faversham" and in other plays by Shakespeare and his poem "Venus and Adonis" is compared.
