- Abstract
The article presents a study to determine effects of mupirocin and chlorhexidine consumption in the healthcare system of the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD) and hospitals in the National Capital Region. It mentions use of the methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolated from clinical cultures. It also discusses assessment of relationships between genotypic resistance and consumptions of mupirocin and chlorhexidine across a managed healthcare system.
