- Abstract
The article analyzes Codec Azcatitlan, an annals history from central Mexico that provides an account of the origin of the Aztec people and the foundation of their empire, the imperial rulers of Mexico-Tenochtitlan and events related to the Spanish conquest and early colonial period. The working relationship between tlacuiloque is described to explain the many other collaborative projects of the early colonial period which reveal political motives, circumstances of production, and intent.
