- Abstract
The author focuses on the concerns related to occurrence of poliomyelitis in Pakistan, citing reference to a study on the same by M.M. Alam and colleagues, published in the journal, as of January 2016. It states Global Polio Eradication Initiative launched by World Health Assembly in 1988, and mentions the polio reported in Pakistan has been caused by vaccine-derived polioviruses. It notes that the type 2 polio has been addressed with conversion of trivalent oral poliovirus vaccine to bivalent.
