- Abstract
The article examines the separation of Cappadocian refectories and kitchens in Byzantine monasteries in Turkey. It explores the architectural history of the peculiar separation and their carved structures, creating a monastic identity in the region in central Anatolia. Moreover, it mentions that the refectory was considered the second most essential architectural component within the Byzantine monastery.
