- Abstract
The article offers information on the significance of legal and governmental approaches in providing protection to victims of intimate partner violence in the U.S. and Ireland. It analyzes the efforts of the World Health Organization in detecting and preventing of increasing rates of physical assault of women by their intimate male partners across the world. It discusses the significance of provisions of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) of 1994 in prohibiting the abuse of women.
