- Abstract
The article presents the author's views on the expansion of offshore drilling in Alaska under the Minerals Management Service (MMS) during the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama. He notes that the troubled agency under regional director John Goll has been allowed to escalate operations. The author reveals that 53 million acres of offshore oil reserves have been put up for lease in the first year of the Obama administration which eclipsed the records set by past administrations.
