- Abstract
A pilot project 2006 on evidence-based practice was carried out at Odense University Hospital dur-,:ing the period 2004-in five selected departments. requirements and recommendations regarding Clinical guidelines and further training of staff, inforiation searches and Journal Clubs were set by a steering group, and the departments were offered courses and IT equipment. The task was carried out by the departments themselves via an internal evidence group. Evaluation of the project shows that nurses in particular benefited from the two-year project. The majority of participants on the courses in systematic literature searching were nurses, they established their own Journal Clubs, organised courses in critical reading and generally proved to be extremely motivated when it came to acquiring knowledge and integrating evidence into day-to-day clinical practice. The perspectives for the nurses and of future evidence-based practice at the nation's hospitals should be assessed.
