- Abstract
The article reports on the guidelines issued by the European Commission (EC) on the use of antimicrobials in veterinary medicine, which aim to address the principles of prudent use and development and implementation of national strategies to combat antimicrobial resistance (AMR). The ultimate goal of the guideline is to minimise the need for antimicrobials through disease prevention, emphasising the importance of susceptibility testing and correct administration.
