- Abstract
The crystal structure of the diluted magnetic compounds CuGa(1-X)Mn(X)Se2, x = 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, were characterized using X-ray powder diffraction data. All compounds crystallize in the tetragonal space group I4ā2d (No 122), with a chalcopyrite-type structure. In all alloys, Mn-substituted of I-III-VI2 chalcopyrites, the Mn cation preferred the Ga site which supports its ferromagnetic properties. These results are consistent with the first-principles calculations reported so far.
