The article offers criticism on the poem "Amours de Voyage" by English poet Arthur Hugh Clough. It comments on one of the epigraphs at the beginning of the poem, and discusses the short story "Mademoiselle de Lavergny" by French author Arsène Houssaye as the source of Clough's epigraph.
