- Authors

- Abstract
This article describes mathematics teaching interventions for students with high functioning autism/Asperger's syndrome (HFA/AS). The article notes that students with nonverbal learning disability (NLD), a condition that can be defined neuropsychologically, have similar behavioral and cognitive symptoms to students with HFA/AS. The article also notes that the neuropsychological diagnosis of NLD allows researchers to target instruction for students and it is believed that the same instruction can be used with students with HFA/AS. The article describes instructional strategies that can be used to instruct HFA/AS students in mathematics.
