- Abstract
The article underlines how foreigners were depicted in children's literature during World War I. It is noted that during the war children were perceived as a group who had to be unified and persuaded of the merits of the war. Children's literature during this period were essentially different from those written for the adult population. Books written for children in the period showed social attitudes to prepare children for war.
