- Title
Evolutionary anthropology: Homo 'incendius'.
- Authors
Roberts, Richard G.; Bird, Michael I.
- Abstract
The article discusses the report by F. Berna and colleagues regarding their discovery of ashed plants and burnt bone fragments of a-million-year-old sediments at Wonderwerk Cave in Northern Cape, South Africa. It states that the analysis of the sediments suggests the use by human ancestors of fire earlier than had been known. It says that a study of the stones and bones may create further fireworks from the so-called Homo incendius.
