The article presents a study which examines the deletion of thymocytes in the cortex, expressing transgenic T-cell receptor (TCR) without the involvement of medulla. It employed bone-marrow chimera strategy which corrects thymic defects and decreases the frequency of TCR-transgenic cells. The results show that the deletion can occur asynchronously in the cortex in vivo.
