- Abstract
Heavy metal contaminations are the burning issue for the world. Many algae are effective for heavy metal adsorption. In this present study, we have used immobilizes Euglena gracilis for the removal of cupper (Cu2+) ion. The immobilization of algae was done by sodium alginate. Then the adsorption study was carried out at different time at different pH. The study suggest that immobilizes Euglena gracilis adsorb maximum heavy metal at pH5, after 40 min. The copper concentration was studied by AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy).
