- Abstract
The article examines the concept of creolization in the writings of Martinican author Édouard Glissant. Creolization is said to epitomize the intermixing of cultures, languages and races in the Caribbean. Some of Glissant's works discussed include the novel "La Lézarde," the essay "Une nouvelle région du monde" and the essay "Poetics of Relation." Also discussed are the author's environmental ethic and vision of the interrelated of the communities of the world.
