- Abstract
The study examines the influence of leaf-active herbicide substances on weed control in sugar beets. It is determined that the effectiveness of the existing leaf-active substances varies in weed control in sugar beets. The combination of metamitron and ethofumesate shows good control of white goosefoot, while phenmedipham increases effectiveness against bindweed and knotweed. The addition of phenmedipham and lenacil best controls volunteer oilseed rape. Overall, the leaf-active substance phenmedipham is of crucial importance for a highly effective herbicide strategy in sugar beet cultivation. The study was conducted in collaboration with regional working groups and plant protection companies.
