- Abstract
The objective of the study is to analyze the factors that influence members of a supermarket chain to participate in cooperation as a competitive strategy. The method used was a survey, of a descriptive, quantitative character, and as a data collection instrument, a questionnaire adapted from Tálamo (2008) and applied to 16 associate entrepreneurs, analyzed through descriptive statistics. Thus, the results showed that companies belonging to the network in general, obtain competitive results in relation to companies that operate in isolation in the sector. Despite some obstacles, the positive aspects maintain the network present in the state of Rio Grande do Norte, specifically in the Alto Oeste region. Therefore, the analysis in the retail chain of supermarket stores shows an analogy in relation to the theoretical framework presented by Balestrin and Verschoore (2016), which contains the essential elements for the formation of the cooperation network, guaranteeing its competitive advantage, however, some characteristics need to be worked on. in the network as verified in the sphere of trust between the members.
