- Abstract
Discusses the development and used of a routine DNA-based assay to quantify Gaeumannomyces graminis, the causal agent of take-all disease of cereals, for the prediction of take-all in a wide range of field soils. Correlation between the take-all disease severity and the levels detected by the DNA assay; Comparison of variability within the DNA assay and the soil bioassay; Incidence of Gaeumannomyces graminis inoculum in fields; Background reading of the DNA assay.
