- Title
JUDICIAL SELF-REGULATION--ITS POTENTIAL.
- Authors
CLARK, TOM C.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the potential of judicial self-regulation in the U.S. Several legislative bills have been introduced in the U.S. to reform both the courts and the judges. These include the proposed guidelines from U.S. Senator Robert P. Griffin on the allowable non-judicial conduct of federal judges and the pending Judicial Reform Act of Senator Joseph Tydings for a congressional surveillance of federal judges using a reporting system. On June 10, 1969, a resolution was adopted by the Judicial Conference of the U.S. which prohibits the receipt of income from non-judicial sources. The receipt of such income is only allowed if there was prior approval from the circuit council.
