- Abstract
The article focuses on arbitration of state trading. It refers to several court cases involving state trading which include Amtorg Trading Corp. v. Camden Fibre Mills, Inc. and Lingo v. Baumgartner & Co., A.G. It discusses recent resolutions of the lnter-American Bar Association, the International Law Association, and the International Chamber of Commerce that recommended the use of arbitration for the settlement of state trading disputes. It is reported that the foreign governmental agencies that submitted controversies to private arbitration have been the Argentine Institute of Trade Development, the Turkish Railway Administration, and a nationalized Czechoslovakian enterprise.
